Founded in 1992 as a used textbook retailer serving both schools and individual student buyers, ClassBook became one of the first textbook vendors to move its retail operation online. The firm entered the ecommerce market in early 1996, initially providing fulfillment of entire curriculum requests for used and new textbooks to schools nationwide. Based on feedback from our clients, the firm identified that the bulk procurement process was becoming a burden to schools. Therefore, ClassBook initiated an ecommerce solution in 1999 to eliminate the need for bulkbuying and created creating an internet based point of sale system that would interact directly with the student body of each school.
